Most degens already know, but if you don’t WENEW is an NFT powerhouse well-known for web3-centric partnerships with prominent brands such as Louis Vuitton, Playboy, Gucci, Wimbledon, Puma, and others.

WENEW is basically home to the narrative-driven NFT collection. 10KTF, an interoperable digital storefront where holders from top NFT collections can mint and assemble one-of-a-kind NFTs featuring their digital avatars on different metaverse-ready digital wearables.

With this partnership, Yuga Labs also brings in Michael Figge, ex-WENEW CEO, as Chief Content Officer, and Beeple as an advisor.

Figge, Beeple, and the WENEW team have discovered a way to make a beautiful serialized story for web3, while also handling to tap into the passion people have for their digital avatars and customization, says co-founder Greg Solano. Solano also says that Storytelling and world-building are foundational at Yuga and he is thrilled that they get to work with the creative mind hive at WENEW in a much more robust manner. According to Greg, the possibilities of what they can do together are limitless.

Michael Figge mentions that they built WENEW with storytelling at the forefront, and also emphasized that Yuga’s first-class assistance to story, experiences, and community was a huge inspiration. Their principles of openness boosted the interoperability of 10KTF and they are excited to join Yuga and continue building amazing things in NFTs and web3 together.

Also, about 20 WENEW employees will reposition over to Yuga, bringing Yuga Lab’s full-time staff to over 100 people around the world. Now, this seems quite encouraging considering the layoffs in many crypto, NFT-based, and tech firms. The controversy surrounding BAYC has put Yuga Labs into a tough situation but still, the company persists to move forward with lucrative deals and partnerships which is somewhat admirable.
