F1 team Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 has announced that they will be working with cryptocurrency exchange FTX to launch a series of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for the 2022 season to boost fan participation.

There are 2,500 NFT “Ticket Stubs” that may be claimed for free and 1,000 special edition NFT Ticket Stubs that will be given out at up to five races this season, starting in Miami.

It is expected that the NFTs will be issued before the conclusion of the current Formula One season, which is currently in progress. Fans may collect, exchange, and own race-themed artwork that the firm has commissioned.

With NFT “Ticket Stub” collecting as an option, fans will have extra opportunities to interact with one another during the season. In addition, they will be able to create a new network of people who share their enthusiasm for racing and digital art.

At the Miami event, the Mercedes F1 Team will also showcase some unique NFTs created with the multi-disciplinary artist Mad Dog Jones.

As per the statements, two unique NFTs will include the 2022 Miami cars raced by Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. Additionally, the team intends to sell the two rear wing endplates with their associated Mad Dog NFTs from the Mercedes-AMG Formula 1 W13 in Miami.

According to Richard Sanders, the team’s commercial director, it is part of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team’s ambition to find innovative methods to connect with the worldwide fan base.

A big part of being a die-hard sports fan has always been collecting memorabilia from your favorite teams. We’re so happy to produce these unique digital artefacts that bring Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 fans closer together.

According to Vice President of Business Development, FTX, Avi Dabir, the F1 team Mercedes-AMG Petronas is a testimony to their dedication to innovation and pushing the sport’s boundaries by launching the NFT initiative.

In a first for the team and sport, “FTX is thrilled to engage with the team on this auction integrating unique NFT artwork with a vital component of Lewis’ and George’s Miami vehicles,” Dabir added.
