Rawlings reveals NFTs of Rare Baseball Gloves

Rawlings Sporting Goods Company, Inc., the official base, for baseball, helmet, face guard, and glove of Major League Baseball®, informed the NFT community about its first entry into the Web3 world.

This new digital happening marks the first of its kind for the long-established baseball and softball brand, with the project pivoting around its most well-known product category of baseball gloves.

Baseball Gloves and NFTs from Rawlings

Rawlings will be producing 461 physical assets NFTs. These NFTs are spread across four tiers of rarity, with physical baseball gloves tied to each NFT. These ultra-rare, limited-edition Rawlings gloves were developed and manufactured only for the ‘PRIMUS NFT’ project. This means they are never to be reproduced. By buying one of the NFTs, the consumer will be able to swap their NFT for their physical glove, and will also attain access to exclusive future offerings from Rawlings.

Further, as part of the PRIMUS NFT project, Rawlings is also opening a Rawlings Discord server to interact with the brand, share additional information about the launch, and give fans the chance to earn early access to the PRIMUS NFT launch.

Dylan Kavanagh, vice-president of digital marketing for Rawlings mentions that the Rawlings brand is always looking to grow, and after 135 years, they are excited to be entering a new digital realm by creating NFTs tied to physical gloves, resulting in a one-of-a-kind experience for NFT holders.

Remarking on the journey the vice president cites : “It’s been an exciting journey finding an opportunity to tie together the digital and physical worlds we live in. This launch also enables us to OFFEr more tangibility and authentication for what we already know is an expansive glove collecting market while opening a new platform for conversation and community with our Rawlings Discord server.”

The rarest tier is an NFT featuring a single edition, a one-of-one glove that was developed by New York Mets™ Shortstop, Francisco Lindor, and will be worn on the July 27th game against the New York Yankees™. This glove and corresponding NFT will be auctioned off, with the profits going to charity.

The Rawlings PRIMUS NFT collection will be dropped later this summer. Any individual interested in holding a Rawlings PRIMUS NFT will be able to buy them using either cryptocurrency or a credit card on OpenSea.

Rawlings is embarking on the PRIMUS NFT collection in collaboration with Dream Syndicate. The Dream Syndicate agency is focused on developing immersive and enriching experiences for clients traversing across multiple industries worldwide.
