Porsche is making its move into the NFT Space. The luxury sports car manufacturer revealed its official entrance to Web3 and revealed the initial plans for its decentralized future.
The first Web3 project of Porsche includes a 7,500-piece NFT collection based on the classic Porsche 911. The NFTs are prepared to be released in January 2023, and Hamburg designer and 3D artist Patrick Vogel will make each piece.
After buying, holders will help shape the design of their respective NFTs. Particularly, individuals will be able to select a route for their NFT i.e. Performance, Lifestyle, or Heritage. Each route represents a specific element of Porsche’s premium brand identity and will affect the overall design and character of the NFT. Over the next few months, Vogel will work with this user input derived from the initial sale to schedule each NFT as a special 3D asset in Unreal Engine 5. NFT, owners will also get exclusive access to ventures in the virtual and real world.
Through this new virtual brand presentation, Porsche seeks to boost the appeal of its sports cars to confine coveted artifacts in the digital world. To this end, when sketching the aesthetic of the 3D visuals, Lars Krämer, Porsche’s manager of innovation & methods, told the media that now that the team drew on Porsche heritage, typical Porsche elements, and modern lifestyle to set together a stimulating set of possible layers in a token-gated and innovative journey. He also stressed that Porsche set aside a specific amount of freedom so that the owners can let their style and situational mood flow into the visualization.

Porsche is just getting started…
This Porsche NFT collection is only the start of the company’s Web3 programs. Porsche’s deputy chairman and member of the executive board for finance and IT, Lutz Meschke, indicates that they have made their commitment for the long haul, and their Web3 team has every leeway to develop innovations in this domain as well.
Further, the company is also operating to integrate blockchain technologies into its current and future processes. Also, the company remarked that its innovation management teams see promise in moving the purchasing experience and supply chain into Web3. Vehicle and sustainability topics are also being examined.
Director of Brand Management and Partnerships, Deniz Keskin, remarked that Web3 provides a way for the company to offer its customers novel digital experiences. What’s more, NFTs and other Web3 technologies extend the creative process, letting brands to co-create with their customers and offer more custom-tailored experiences to them.
Keskin also said, venturing into new areas has always been the spirit of their brand, and they are excited to enter Web3 with their first NFT collection. Their goal is an extension of the brand into a totally digital environment. And ideally, to encounter new friends along the way.
