Jim Carrey enters the Web3 domain with a purchase of 20 ETH NFT

Jim Carrey is now on Web3

On May 25th, the “Ace Ventura” actor paid $40,000 for an NFT called “Devotion.” NFT “Devotion” by Ryan Koopmans and Alice Wexell is one of a series of works reimagining forsaken Soviet structures using nature and music.

This one stops me, Carrey said in a tweet. Nature’s “exquisite and persistent reinvention,” he said, has been captured by Koopmans.

Jim Carrey’s choice of “Devotion” as his first NFT delighted Koopsman, who complimented the actor on Twitter. That someone like Carrey, who advocates for “creativity, positivism, and mindfulness,” connects with the work of his and Alice Wexell is exciting, he added.

Georgian sanatorium looks to be the setting for “Devotion.” There are peeling paint, cracked walls, and missing panes of glass throughout the structure. As a result, glass, flowers, and even trees have regained the interior areas.

Koopsman and Wexell digitally generated the aspects of nature that would revitalize the room. Other NFTs in the “The Wild Within” series had their lighting and sound altered, and even the structures themselves have been altered by the artists.

After many other celebrities had jumped into the industry, Jim Carrey’s initial NFT acquisition wasn’t his last. Carrey bought a Nuclear Taco Truck momentarily after purchasing the “Devotion” NFT.

NFTs Have a Lot of Celebrity Supporters

While Jim Carrey waited till after the NFT craze had already taken hold before jumping in, many other celebrities have jumped straight in. NFTs, in particular, one specific NFT collection, have swiftly become popular with the wealthy and famous.

Rapper Snoop Dogg, who has drawn attention to his quest of NFT properties, is one possible leader. Death Row has already pledged to become an NFT record label, and he’s bought Bored Apes and CryptoPunks in the last several months. A dessert shop using NFTs is something he is actively working on launching in the near future.

As an actress, Mila Kunis has always been on the cutting edge of new forms of storytelling on screen. According to speculations, she aims to produce a new NFT-based online TV series in 2021, after the success of Stoner Cats. Exclusive privileges are given to NFT holders in both cases.

Finally, the Bored Ape Yacht Club has lured the attention of a number of well-renowned singers and actors. Eminem, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Serena Williams, Neymar, Madonna, and many more are comprised on the list. The presence of celebrities at BAYC boosts its prestige as an elite club, resulting in NFTs with values in the tens of thousands of dollars.

Jim Carrey’s involvement in the NFT area is still vague, but the fact that so many celebrities are using Web3 is absolute.
