AirRes Mask is a unique piece of equipment that you can pair with your AR/VR headsets. It improves and enhances the experience a person has in the digital dimension. The purpose of the AirRes mask is to manage the flow of air and our breathing. In favor, it offers an extra sensory perception to VR/AR and assists with controlling various experiences. 

At present, it is head-mounted gear, which is also a little bulgy and covers the full mouth.

In brief, AirRes Mask is the next step into the AR/VR industry. Although, it is not in production yet. Hence, it is not obtainable in the market. The device still demands a lot of research and examination because of the likely dangers.

According to the leading team, they are using breathing resistance for the unknown sensory feedback modality. In simple words, they are utilizing breath resistance, often found in training masks, to assist create air resistance that would imitate the air conditions of the environment virtual avatars are in. 

This could lead to people sensing various statures in virtual reality. It could be an outstanding asset for psychotherapy, training simulations, or training danger perception in general.

  • In the future, we could glimpse AirRes that could even replicate the smells. That would be a momentous achievement for the AR/VR industry.

Of course, most of these points are just assumptions and predictions. Nothing is set in stone yet, as the device is still experiencing examinations and approval.

The Need For Sensory Equipment – Good or Bad? 

No matter what there will always be two sides to the coin. This means that along with perks, there will be people who will oppose this idea. After all, it will make things challenging for people, like differentiating realities. People could get stuck in alternative realities for more elongated periods that might leave a psychological impact. 

Regardless, tech development has been persisting for multiple sensory stimulations for a good while. AirRes Mask could establish itself be a groundbreaking discovery and invention. Sure, it is daunting to think about the feeling of suffocation through AirRes Mask, but then it will also offer a more natural experience to users.

Different Examples Of Sensory Equipment 

A couple of other creative teams worldwide are laboring towards offering a multi-sensory experience using AR/VR. Another team from the Future Interfaces Group of Carnegie Mellon University displayed another VR Headset. It was an off-the-shelf design that operates with ultrasonic transducers. The intent of the headsets was to deliver a sense of touch to the users in the mouth. 

Obviously, the experiment eventually mimicked the sensory experience of a spider tossing acid in your mouth, but it was an accomplishment. It only goes to demonstrate that with a little more improvement, we could be looking at a more acceptable sensory experience.

Metaverse Future Prospects

Just, when you considered that Web 3.0 and Metaverse had hit their prime, we hit a new milestone. It is proof that we are just starting to step into unknown territory. The prospects of the Metaverse are endless.

We are sure that a multi-sensory experience for the virtual dimension will become a milestone for the Metaverse and Web 3.0 worlds. It doesn’t just pivot around DeFi, DeSoc, or DAO concepts anymore. 

Web 3.0 is at the infantile stage, and much like Web 2.0’s developments from immersive websites to apps, we could notice various innovations in the new technological era.
