150 people get Dubai Police NFT Collection for free

Out of 22.9 million people from around the world who registered their interest in acquiring the Dubai Police’s first NFT collection that the force released earlier this year, 150 received the NFTs for free. The police received more than 7,000 direct messages from participants involved through its social media platforms.

Brigadier Khalid Nasser Al Razooqi who is director of the General Department of Artificial Intelligence at the Dubai Police mentions that all participants were reached out to confirm digital wallet addresses, and those who satisfied the requirements were shortlisted in a raffle draw, of which 150 individuals won and received the Dubai Police digital assets for free.

The Dubai Police is the first government entity in the UAE and the first police force in the world to create its own digital assets. The NFT collection features 150 free digital assets that symbolize the force’s innovation, security, and communication values.

People from anywhere in the world will have the chance to own the second set of police digital assets for free.

During the first launch of the NFT collection, the police saw the highest interaction online from people in the UAE, Nigeria, India, the US, and Saudi Arabia.

Brig. Al Razooqi noted that this step is in line with the government’s growing curiosity about digital assets and contributes to attracting those interested in this modern digital trend. The brigadier also cites that NFT is a unit of data stored on a type of digital ledger i.e. a blockchain, and every NFT is a unique copy in itself, retaining complete information about the date of creation and owner. NFT-related information documented on a blockchain cannot be falsified or reproduced.
